The Germany-based manufacturer will deliver turbines from its 3MW D3 platform to the Bison 4 development at the BisonWind Energy Center near New Salem, North Dakota.
The order came from Minnesota Power, which is increasing the capacity ofthe Bison complex to almost 500MW via the extension.
Installation is due to begin mid this year with commercial operation scheduledfor December 2014.The contract includes a three-year service deal.
Siemens turbines are in operation at the other Bison stages.
