Gamesa, Santander 500MW in Mexico
Spanish group Gamesa has struck a deal with finance giant Santander to co-develop up to 500MW of wind capacity in Mexico.
Gamesa will supply turbines to the plants, as well as handling development and construction.
The projects are in Mexico’s wind-rich Oaxaca region and will be developed over the next three years, said Gamesa.
They will be developed under Mexico’s “Open Season 2” framework, with Santander contributing its 200MW El Sauzal project to the arrangement.
