The Germany-based group will install 10 of its SWT-2.3-113 direct-drive turbines at the Morse wind project being developed by Algonquin Power & Utilities.

Construction will begin this summer with commercial operation due early next year.

The contract includes a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.

The wind farm, in the south of the province 60 km from Swift Current, will boost Saskatchewan’s wind capacity by more than 10%, said Siemens Canada.
