Siemens Saskatchewan wind debut
Siemens has booked a 23MW order to supply a wind farm in Saskatchewan – its first in the Canadian province.
The Germany-based group will install 10 of its SWT-2.3-113 direct-drive turbines at the Morse wind project being developed by Algonquin Power & Utilities.
Construction will begin this summer with commercial operation due early next year.
The contract includes a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.
The wind farm, in the south of the province 60 km from Swift Current, will boost Saskatchewan’s wind capacity by more than 10%, said Siemens Canada.
