The facility, 144km northwest of Detroit, will utilize 62 General Electric 1.7-100 wind turbines whose components are scheduled to arrive on site in mid-summer.
When fully in service, the wind farm will allow the utility to comply with the state’s 2008 Energy Law that requires it to obtain a minimum of 500MW of new capacity from renewable energy resources by the end of 2015.
