It did not name the customer or projects. The towers will produced in Broadwind's Manitowoc, Wisconsin, facility for delivery during 2013.
"The level of activity in our wind tower business remains strong and this order moves us one step closer to filing our tower capacity for 2013,” says chief executive Peter Duprey.
Broadwind was one of the survivors along with Trinity Structural Towers when the industry last year experienced a shake-out as orders plunged amid uncertainty over whether Congress would renew the wind production tax credit.
