Developed and built by Vestas, the 90MW Talinay project was purchased late last year by EGP using a €110m ($142.9m) loan from the Danish government’s Export Credit Agency (EKF).
Located in Chile’s central Coquimbo region, north of Santiago, Talinay employs 45 Vestas 2MW machines and cost $165m.
In December EGP began building a 90MW wind farm in the northern Antofagasta region, which will also be kitted out by Vestas as part of the 400MW supply deal the two companies inked in 2010.
