“The factory is scheduled to start production in August,” said LM’s local finance chief Carlos André Lopes.

The plant, in the port of Suape, Pernambuco state, will deliver blades across Latin America. It cost R$100m ($50m) to build.

The plant is a joint-venture between Danish group LM (51%) and Brazilian company Eólice (49%), chaired by Romualdo de Barros, a former vice-president of aircraft producer Embraer.
