The company signed the 20-year deal with Indiana Michigan Power Company to sell the output from the Headwaters wind farm it is building in the state.
EDPR says it expects to install the wind farm next year under its flexible strategy that gears capacity growth to countries offering the most attractive conditions.
The developer said: “The Production Tax Credit (PTC) extension in January 2013 enabled a more favourable environment for the development of wind energy, and for the establishment of new long-term PPAs in the US, creating new growth opportunities for EDPR on the short-term.”
