Deliveries of 51MW of wind and 3MW of solar power will begin in December 2014 from a planned facility to be built near Wilcox in southeastern Arizona. TEP will also purchase associated renewable energy credits.

Red Horse, formed by developer Torch Renewable Energy, based in Houston, will also operate the project, according to the Arizona Corporation Commission.

Arizona law requires investor-owned utilities and rural electric cooperatives ot obtain 15% of their retail sales from renewable sources by 2025.
