The BNDES approval gives the Spanishwind turbine manufacturer’s Brazilian customers access to preferential financeunder tighter regulations for foreign producers unveiled last year.

Acciona has serious ambitions inBrazil, where it inaugurated a wind turbine hub plant at SimõesFilho,  Bahia, in March.

The company has also unveiled plansfor a nacelle plant, also in Bahia, with the capacity to produce 100 of thecompany’s AW3000 3MW turbines per year.

Acciona  is already supplying 3MW turbines for a 120MWproject developed by CPFL in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and has contractsto supply 210MW for two wind power projects being developed by Voltalia in RioGrande do Norte.

Other foreignmanufacturers to meet the BNDES rules are Gamesa, also of Spain, France’sAlstom and Argentinian producer Impsa.
