The deal includes a five-year operation and maintenance servicesagreement.

The G90-2.0 turbines will be sited on land owned by the cityof Medicine Hat, about 180 miles (289.6km) east of Calgary. Medicine Hat isbuying the electricity and carbon credits attributable to the project under along-term power purchase agreement.

Under Alberta law, carbon credits may be used to offsetemissions from city-owned natural gas-fired electricity generation.
