The Bureau of Land Management, part of DOI, which is conducting the environmental review and analysis, approved eight of ten segments in the proposed routing. This is enough to build the high-voltage line that will have 1.5GW transmission capacity and allow construction to begin.
BLM plans to defer a decision either to approve or deny use of the other two segments until it can conduct additional stakeholder outreach and public engagement.
