The manufacturer will equip the 250MW wind farm with its1.7-100 machines, and said it is firming up a five-year operations andmaintenance agreement with developer Golden West Power Partners.
The wind farm will sell its output to Public Service of Colorado, part of Xcel Energy, under a 25-yearpower purchase agreement.
Golden West is part of Colorado’s push to supply 30% of its power fromrenewables by 2020.
GE will provide monitoring and diagnostics from its remote operations center in Schenectady, New York.
The 1.7-100 is part of GE’s ‘Brilliant turbine’ range, which uses theindustrial internet for advanced data processing to optimise energy output.
