Duke Energy Renewables pleaded guilty to charges brought by DOJ under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) for 14 golden eagle and 149 other bird mortalities within the past three years at Top of the World Windpower Project and Campbell Hill Windpower Project near Casper, Wyoming.
It was the first time the federal government has enforced environmental laws protecting birds against wind farms.
