Between 2015-17 the French industrial giant will supply and install 136 of its Eco122 turbines, rated at 2.7MW each, for the Caldeirão Grande I and II projects, both in the northeastern Brazilian state of Piauí.
The turbines, with rotors stretching to 122m, will be manufactured at Alstom’s factory in Camaçari, Bahia state.
The turbine order is the second for Alstom from Queiroz Galvão, the first having been signed in 2012 for two wind farms in northeastern Brazil.
