Vestas will supply 75 V110-2.0 MW turbines to First Wind’sRoute 66 project near Amarillo, Texas.
Deliveries are expected in early 2015 with commissioning in mid-2015.
Vestas said the order is part of a “master supply agreement” that could seeit supply up to 568MW for multiple projects.
Turbines supplied to First Wind under the agreement come with a 10-yearservice agreement.
Vestas said it is hiring more staff at its three Colorado plants to meet a spate of demand in the US, and expects"to add hundreds of production workers in the first half of 2014", mostly at itstwo blade factories.
