Mitsui stake in 160MW Mexico wind
A unit of Japanese conglomerate Mitsui has purchased a 50% stake in the owner of a 160MW wind farm in Oaxaca, Mexico.
manufacturer Gamesa supplied 80 of its 2MW turbines for the 5bn-peso ($384.7m) Santo Domingo project, which is currently under construction
and scheduled for completion in April.
Renewables Mexico, a Mitsui subsidiary, reached an agreement with EDF EN Mexico, a unit of French renewables developer EDF Energies Nouvelles,
to buy the 50% stake in project company Eoliatec del Pacífico.
generated by the wind farm will be sold to two undisclosed companies under 15-year power purchase agreements, Tokyo-based Mitsui said
in an online statement.
In September, EDF Energies Nouvelles started running a 164MW wind farm, also 50% owned by Mitsui, in Oaxaca.
