In December 2013, just weeks before the Production Tax Credit was allowed to expire, EGP’s North America subsidiary agreed to buy 350MW of Vestas turbines – including 75 V100-2.0MW machines for the 150MW Origin wind project in Oklahoma – and additionally signed a framework agreement for up to 636MW more.
EGP completed the Origin project in November 2014, lifting its total renewables capacity in North America to more than 2GW.
