The SeaAngel at one stage looked destined to take its place as a fully-fledged turbine offering to compete with other large-scale offshore machines.

But its future became the subject of speculation as soon as the MHI Vestas offshore wind joint venture was confirmed in late 2013, with the Danish partner’s V164 8MW machine the focus of its ambitions.
