The deal – which is subject to a final investment decision by the Danish energy group – will see the deployment of Seajacks new Scylla installation vessel, currently being built in South Korea.

The Scylla will be fitted with equipment that is interchangeable between the two giant turbines that will share the Walney Extension project under Dong’s plans.

Starting from summer 2017, Seajacks will install 40 of MHI Vestas’ V164 8MW turbines in phase one, followed by 47 Siemens 7MW machines in the second stage of the UK Irish Sea plant.
