Equipped with 56-metre blades and designed for Class 2 sites, the G114 is set to become a key turbine for Gamesa as it sets out to make inroads into new markets.
Components for the prototype were made across Spain – blades in Galicia, hub and gearbox in Burgos and generator in Cantabria, with nacelle assembly in Soria.
Gamesa has already booked orders for the 2.5MW
