Annual data from Spain’s national grid operator Red Electrica de Espana (REE) shows wholesale electricity prices for wind were the lowest at an average of €46.14/MWh ($50.29/MWh) in 2015. By comparison electricity from thermal plants cost €50.94/MWh and hydropower €50.69/MWh.
