ABEEólica also calculates that in 2016 the wind industry is set to invest R$28bn ($6.9bn) and will create 50,000 new jobs, up from 40,000 in 2015.
“Brazil is one of the countries that most invests in wind power,” said Élbia Silva Gannoum, executive president of ABEEólica.
According to her data, Brazil will conclude the construction of 160 new wind farms in the coming 12 months with a combined capacity of 4GW.
