Oregon now joins California, Hawaii and Vermont among states having 50% or above renewable mandates. The legislature in New York has a 50% RPS bill under consideration that is backed by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
In a statement, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) commended the leadership of both houses in passing the legislation, citing five lawmakers by name including Senate President Peter Courtney, a Democrat.
