Last June, amid a torrent of major deals and acquisitions, SunEdison announced it would buy Costa Rica-based GME from its two owners, Actis and Mesoamerica Power.

SunEdison described GME as Central America’s “leading renewable energy company”.

In buying GME, SunEdison would be taking ownership of five operating projects totaling 326MW spread across Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua; 80MW of wind under construction in Costa Rica; and a 246MW development-stage pipeline throughout the region.
