The auction rules should be announced in the first weeks of May and the government expects to contract 3GW that would be built by 2018, renewable energy secretary Sebastián Kind told El Clarín in an interview.
Total investment in renewables is expected to reach $5bn, El Clarín reported.
The tender would include wind, solar, biomass and small-hydro, which would not compete with each other.
