The parliament backed an earlier verdict by its energyand industry, and environment committees in favour of a trio of binding targets forrenewables, greenhouse gas reductions and energyefficiency.
The plenary vote of 341 to 263 is non-binding, but flies against the policyoutlined by the European Commission last month for a 40% emissions cut goal and 27% EU-widerenewable energy target – not binding at a national level.
