Alstom lines up BFG for composites

Alstom has signed a partnership agreement with BFG France over supply of composite structures for nacelle casings for the 6MW Haliade offshore wind turbine.

The agreement falls under the second French offshore wind tender round, and will take effect if the consortium including EDF is awarded at least one of the two 500MW projects up for grabs, Tréport or les Deux Iles.

Several major French suppliers have already been identified, said Alstom, noting that the consortium has already selected STX for the construction of substations.

“Alstom and its partners stand ready to make investments that will create up to 8,000 jobs if we are awarded the projects needed to support such investments,” said Jérôme Pécresse, president of Alstom Renewable Power.
