The country’s installed nameplate wind capacity was 3.6GW on 1 May.
Other capacity added through April included 1.175GW from the Santo Antonio and Jiraú dams in the Amazon region, with 510MW from thermoelectric power plants..
Brazil adds 711MW through April
Brazil connected 711MW of wind to its grid in the first four months of this year, equivalent to 29% of all new generation capacity added, according to Mines and Energy Ministry data.
