Gamesa will deliver 50 of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbines to CGN Wind Energy for the Yangchajie wind farm in Yunnan province.
The agreement also includes the option of a follow-on order next year for another 100MW for the wind farm’s second phase.
The G97s to be used at Yangchajie are configured to the special low-temperature and low air-density demands of Yunnan, which is 2,000 metres above sea level.
Gamesa said the agreement comes hard on the heels of two other recent orders in China totalling 97MW.
