Areia Branca is made up of the Carcará I, Carcará II and Terral wind farms, each with 30MW of capacity. They are being built by French renewable energy developer Voltalia.
Spain's Acciona will supply 30 of its 3MW AW 116/3000 turbines for the project.
BNDES financing will cover 74.6% of Voltalia's total investment in the complex.
Areia Branca sold power at local auctions in 2011 and should start commercial operations in the second half of 2014, BNDES said.
