Vestas bags 78MW in N. America
Danish wind group Vestas has won a 78MW order in North America.
The company will supply 39 of its V110-2.0 MW turbines to a project, with full details withheld at the request of its customer.
Deliveries are due in the third quarter of 2016, with commissioning expected in the final quarter.
A five-year service deal forms part of the deal.
Vestas recently installed the first V110-2.0MW prototype at the Danish national testing centre at Høvsøre. the turbine is designed to maximise output at low wind speeds.
The company said today: “Vestas’ factories in Colorado are expected to be involved in the manufacturing of the blades, nacelles and towers for this project.”
The Danish group is adding hundreds of workers at its US operation to meet surging demand.
