Federal power company Chesf will switch on the Igaporã II substation and lines by the end of May, says Renova, quoting power regulator Aneel.
Renova will then need another 30 days to start commercial operations.
Alto Sertão is made up of 14 wind power plants, in which Renova invested R$1.2bn ($536m). It sold power from these plants at the 2009 auction and had been scheduled to start operations in July 2012, but transmission issued have pushed that date back by nearly two years.
