BT has signed PPAs with the 144MW Fallago Rig plant in the Scottish Borders, the 7.5MW Heysham South project in northern England and Mynydd Bwllfa, a 22.5MW Welsh project.
The deal with the Vestas-equipped Fallago Rig will see the telecoms group buy half its output for the next 20 years, accounting for about £300m of the total PPA.
BT’s renewable power supplier, npower, said it worked for six months with the Scottish wind farm to put the necessary transmission arrangements in place.
