Gamesa supplied its 2MW turbines for the €45m ($61.2m) second phase of the project in the state of Karnataka.

Greenko chief executive Anil Chalamalasetty said the company expects to grow rapidly via its strategy of constructing big projects with turbines designed to capture lower wind speeds.

The Hyderabad-based company has already completed the first 51.2MW phase of Basvanbagewadi, along with two other 15MW portions, bringing the site’s total generating capacity to 131.2MW.
