RenewableUK flags local potential

UK industry body RenewableUK has released a good-practice guide highlighting local opportunities in the onshore wind supply chain.

The guide highlights the potential for developers to tap into local supply networks early in the process, for example via ‘meet the buyer’ events and partnerships with local agencies.

Case studies such as Scotland’s Fallago Rig Wind Farm are included as examples of projects that have delivered significant local value.

RenewableUK chief executive Maria McCaffery said: “The British onshore wind industry provides jobs for nearly 19,000 people. We are determined to maximise the opportunities for local companies to get as big a slice of the economic action as possible.”
