US-based Pattern said the project – which uses 50 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines – is the country's largest and its first wind venture outside North America.
The wind farm, claimed by Pattern to be South America's largest, is sited 400km north of Santiago on the Chilean coast and will meet the power needs of about 200,000 homes.
Pattern will operate El Arrayán and retains a 31.5%
