Acciona bags 153MW Brazil order

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Acciona Windpower has signed a 153MW supply deal with Brazilian renewable power producer Atlantic Energias Renováveis.

Acciona will deliver 51 of its AW 125/3000 machines to the Santa Vitória do Palmar wind power complex in the state of Río Grande do Sul.

The order includes a 15-year O&M agreement. No schedule is given for completion of the project.

Atlantic is a venture of Brazilian company Pattac Participacoes, UK private equity fund Actis and Spain's Servinoga.

Acciona has invested heavily in Brazil to meet local-content rules and says it has 666MW of wind-power supply deals in the country.

The Spanish producer already has a hub plant up and running and will bring a nacelle factory online by the end of this year – both located in the wind-rich state of Bahia.
