Vestas, RES in final US MSA order
Vestas has announced a 166MW order from RES Americas, its second from the developer in just three days, exhausting the Master Supply Agreement the two companies signed last autumn.
Vestas will deliver 83 of its V100-2.0MW turbines to the Pleasant Valley wind project in Minnesota, adding to the 34MW previously announced for the 200MW project.
The order is the final call-off on the 610MW Master Supply Agreement Vestas signed last September with RES Americas. Of that order, RES Americas itself took 350MW, while other developers that acquired RES Americas projects took the remaining 260MW.
Following commissioning at Pleasant Valley, RES Americas will transfer ownership of the project to Xcel Energy.
“Vestas is extremely pleased that RES Americas has now finalized the MSA, either through orders placed directly with Vestas or via projects transferred to other customers,”says Chris Brown, President of Vestas sales and service division in the United States and Canada.
“Vestas’ track record and technology means we can offer our customers a strong business case for their wind power plants, and this order further confirms RES Americas’ confidence in Vestas and the investment certainty we can offer.”
Vestas has been on a roll in the past week, winning major orders from EDF in Poland and the US, in addition to those from RES Americas.
