The German group’s Siemens Energy division passed the milestone with the April commissioning of turbine 38 at the South Kent wind farm in Ontario, Canada, according to a statement.

The company also has turbines in place in nations including the US, Peru, Chile and Brazil, with more than 5,600 machines across North and South America.

Siemens opened its Americas HQ in 2005 and now employs 1,900 in the region.
