GE, E.ON link for 211MW in Texas
GE Financial Services is entering an investment partnership with E.ON to bring into service and run the 211MW Grandview Phase I wind farm in the Texas Panhandle.
The wind farm will use 118 GE 1.7-100 turbines when it enters operations in December, and the US manufacturer also has a five-year service deal.
E.ON Climate and Renewables North America (EC&R) is managing construction of the project and will provide O&M services at the plant, near Amarillo.
GE Energy Financial Services is putting up 50% of the partnership equity in the project, with E.ON holding the balance. Terms were not disclosed.
David Nason, CEO of GE Energy Financial Services, said: “Combining investment and technology for the Grandview wind project builds on our long-term relationship with EC&R and supports the growth of this important customer and GE.”
