Located in the country's Eastern Cape, the wind farm, South Africa's largest to date, was one of the first to be developed under the government's renewables programme.
"In a country struggling to meet its escalating demands for electricity we will be contributing around 460GWh per year of electrical energy to the national grid," said Mark Pickering, general manager of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm.
