Aibel will carry out a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study, and then engineering management for the development of turbine substructures for the Buchan Deep project, the next stage of Statoil’s Hywind concept.
Buchan Deep, which will be the UK’s first floating wind farm, will comprise five 6MW floating turbines operating in water depths exceeding 100 metres off the Aberdeenshire coast.
