Gamesa 290MW for US, Mexico

Spanish wind group Gamesa has unveiled 290MW of orders in the US and Mexico.

Gamesa will supply 95 of its G114-2.0 MW turbines to developer EDPR for use at the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas – its biggest order yet received for that model.

The manufacturer said that deal falls under the earlier framework agreement signed by the two companies for up to 450MW by the end of 2016.

Delivery is scheduled in the third quarter of 2015 with commissioning expected by the end of next year.

The turbines will be boosted to a 2.1MW rating by Gamesa’s MaxPower package of software and hardware modifications.

The Spanish company also unveiled a deal to install 100MW in central Mexico for a major utility, which it does not name.

The order is for 50 of Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW turbines, due for delivery in Q1 next year and commissioning by end 2015.
