15GW of wind on Brazil shortlist

Despite the postponement of Brazil's reserve auction to October 31, 15GW of wind projects have been shortlisted by the federal energy planning authority EPE.

Wind power accounted for 58% of the total capacity registered, which also included solar and waste-to-energy technologies.

According to EPE, 626 wind power projects have been registered and are seeking final clearance to sell power at the auction.

Earlier this month, Brazil's federal government postponed the dates of the reserve auction from 10 October to 31 October, and for the A-5 auction from 12 September to 30 September.
