The company on 30 June had a $611.3m backlog for structural wind towers compared with $476.7m on 31 March.

The tower business is part of Trinity’s Energy Equipment Group that reported record $227.6m revenue in the second quarter versus $152.5m a year earlier.

Senior Vice President William McWhirter on a conference call says that wind tower shipments were higher during the second quarter and the segment had improved financial performance.
