The US had 61.946GW of installed wind generation capacity on 30 June.

First half installations totaled 835MW comprising 478 wind turbines versus one 1.6MW turbine during the same 2013 period. Still, installations lag behind historical trends with the industry emerging from another cyclical trough tied to uncertainty over whether the US Congress would extend the federal production tax credit.

During the first half, the most new wind capacity was in Texas with 400MW, followed by Nebraska (201MW0 and Michigan (136MW), according to AWEA’s Market Report.
