The manufacturer is preparing to ship nine cold-climate versions of its N100/2500 machines to the project in eastern Poland.

Those turbines could be operating by December, said Nordex. Orla is owned by project company C&C Wind, which is backed by private-equity investors and a power producer.

The bulk of the project finance is coming from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Nordex has been working on Orla since 2008.
