Statkraft – which has named wind power as one of its future growth areas – said its turbine fleet generated 0.9TWh in the six months ending June, with new capacity helping to boost output.

However,the wind operation’s underlying profits in the second quarter were hit by lower production from the UK’ Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm, as a result of poorer wind conditions.

Statkraft named as one of the quarter’s highlights the positive investment decision for Sheringham Shoal’s sister project, the 402MW Dudgeon development in conjunction with compatriot Statoil.
